The pre-wedding festivities of the wedlock of Mukesh Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani and soon to-be daughter-in-law, Radhika Merchant was a star-studded, at Jamnagar, Gujarat. It was a three-day affair with a galaxy of global icons, political figures, and celebrities, adorned in exquisite designer attire, epitomizing luxury and grandeur.
From Day 1 of paparazzi going crazy about the airport looks of the stars, to their stunning cocktail outfits for “An Evening in the Everland.” Day 2 was all about ‘A Walk on the Wildside’ and ‘Mela Rouge’. Followed by Day 3, the finale day was nothing less, starting from ‘Tusker Trails’ in the morning and ‘Hastakshar’ in the evening.
In Indian weddings, especially those of affluent families, like the Ambani’s there is often a strong emphasis on traditional attire and elaborate outfits. Couture designers like Tarun Tahiliani, Rahul Mishra, Gaurav Gupta, Anaita Shroff Adajania and many more created custom pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styles, making them ideal for the guests.
Renowned for his exquisite craftsmanship and fusion of traditional and contemporary styles, Tarun Tahiliani is a maestro in the world of Indian fashion. For Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations, Tahiliani showcased his expertise with a regal sherwani adorned with intricate embroidery and embellishments. For Day 3, Radhika donned a stunning lehenga and a transparent veil, matched with hefty jewellery, to suit with the evening’s theme. The very known, Bebo of Bollywood, was dolled up in designer’s draped saree, with pearl details on it, integrated with turquoise dangler earings with choker.
With a penchant for intricate detailing and sustainable practices, Rahul Mishra is celebrated for his ethereal creations. Mishra’s contribution to Anant Ambani’s festivities was a masterpiece of artistry, featuring a resplendent sherwani crafted from luxurious fabrics and adorned with delicate hand-embroidery. Rahul Mishra’s designs featured prominent appearances from Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan. Mark wore a short organza shirt from Le Soleil Sunderbans paired with white pants, while Priscilla looked amazing in a strappy dress with a snake motif. They chose to dress in Mishra’s creations for the evening, with Priscilla donning an exquisite lehenga with elaborate embellishments and Mark dressing in a cream Sherwani with a floral print.
Known for his avant-garde designs and sculptural silhouettes, Gaurav Gupta is a trailblazer in the Indian fashion scene. The infamous Bollywood couple ‘Randeep’ were seen complementing each other in black and white. The actor, Ranveer Singh in white Gaurav Gupta suit, whereas the actress, Deepika Padukone in black floor length dress, accessorised with, green emerald diamond necklace.
A versatile stylist and designer, Anaita Shroff Adajania brings a fresh perspective to Indian fashion with her eclectic designs. For Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities, Adajania curated a striking ensemble that seamlessly blended tradition with contemporary elegance. Isha Ambani looked stunning in corset gown by the designer paired with pearl and diamond jewellery set, on Day 1.
